Friday Flourish: Alternative Promenade Twirl Out

This week's flourish was pulled out on me a couple of weeks ago when I danced with a new partner. At Glen Echo we favor the "both hands up" promenade position, and this lends itself to a few nifty flourishes. Most commonly, it's a twirl out under the follow's left arm. This flourish leads from the lead's and follow's right arms and turns the follow under that way.

Friday Flourish: Skaters' Hold Promenade

This week's flourish is based on something I observed when I went out to my alma mater for the Dandelion Romp last April. One of the predominant promenade holds was a skaters' hold, which I had not seen used much in New England or the Mid-Atlantic, where I have danced before. So now we share with those of you who might not be as familiar with this hold.
